Golden West Casino History

Golden West Casino has been the premier gaming destination in Bakersfield since it opened in 1995. Before Golden West Casino opened its doors, the building was home to the iconic restaurant Maison Jaussaud’s. Opened in 1950, Maison Jaussaud’s brought a new kind of dining experience Bakersfield had never seen. With its traditional French cuisine, headliner entertainment and French chateau like interior styling it quickly became Bakersfield’s premier dining and entertainment destination. Maison Jaussaud’s played host to such famous performers as The Marx Brothers, Johnny Carson and the Three Stooges.
